As a content driven, user generated social networking site, CoLab collects personal information and data provided by users throughout the use of the website to optimise the site and the services that it provides.
Information is stored throughout the creation of a personal profile. Additionally data is collected through the way in which you use the site and any feedback you provide.
Use and Sharing of Your Information
Through your use of the site, you agree that CoLab may use this personal information to assist us to provide the services to you, for internal research purposes, to verify your identity, for promoting and marketing other CoLab products and services to you, and for any other use that you authorise.
If you provide a credit or debit card, we may also use third parties to check the validity of the sort code, account number and card number you submit in order to prevent fraud.
CoLab may disclose your personal information, including your name and contact details, to the relevant authorities, parties and/or applicable intellectual property right holders (or their representatives) as we see fit.
*Please note; when responding to Notices, you understand that by clicking “Respond”, your response, contact details and any information entered into your personal profile will be sent to the advertiser. This includes any photos, videos or audio clips you may have uploaded.
Data Protection and Privacy
To the extent that CoLab is required to process any personal data, CoLab shall:
- process such personal data on behalf of user as a data processor;
- implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised or unlawful processing and accidental destruction or loss;
- only carry out such processing in accordance with the user’s instructions (except as required by applicable law);
- promptly refer to the user any requests, notices or other communication from data subjects, the Information Commissioner or any other law enforcement authority, for the user to resolve to the extent permitted by applicable law; and
- to the extent it retains a copy of any personal data, not retain that personal data for longer than is necessary to perform its obligations under the Terms and Conditions, and upon the User's reasonable request, securely destroy or return such personal data.
In this clause, "personal data", "data processor" and "processing" shall have the meanings given to them in the Data Protection Act 1998.
Uploading and Storing Your Information
Great consideration has been taken in creating the site to integrate the way in which users interact via the site and this is reflected in the way in which data is collected and used. All the information that you upload is publicly viewable and uploaded at your own risk and, or reward.
CoLab does the upmost to ensure that all the data it stores is kept as safely and securely as possible, however, please note that we can’t be held responsible for any losses. Your personal information is easily accessible and can be corrected, updated or removed at any time through the profiles administration page.
Managing and Accessing Your Account Information
Should you wish to delete your account, you can remove it from within the profiles administration page. The information will be completely removed from within the database after 30 days in case you decide to return and re-activate your account. Beyond this time period, all of your information and contact details will be permanently erased from our databases.
You are entitled to see the information held about you. If you wish to do this, please contact us at [email@example.com]. We may require you to provide verification of your identity and to pay an administration fee to provide a copy of the information we hold. Please note that in certain circumstances we may withhold access to your information where we have the right to do so under current data protection legislation.
You can access and correct your personal information at any time.
Third Party Services
Spam and your email address
Your email address is used to identify your membership, and to sign in to the site. After registering with CoLab you may receive regular casting call update emails, containing casting calls and auditions matching your profile. You may also receive our email newsletters, account updates and information about CoLab features.
You can easily unsubscribe from any of our emails, either by using the 'unsubscribe' link provided in the email, or by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please consider that the site is currently in Beta, being tested. The data stored may therefore vary during updates throughout this time and this may impact on the personal information required when developing a user profile .
